Tips of Using Xbox 360

Xbox 360 tips for using the console are important for any Xbox user as they help enhancing the performance of the console.

The Xbox 360 is one of the popular gaming consoles that allow playing the most complicated games. Apart from playing games, you can use the 360 to play music. This console allows playing games online or using it with wireless controller.

Here are some tips and trick you will find useful for playing your favorite games and using the console properly.

Playing your favorite music:

Whether you are in a game or not, Xbox 360 allows you listen to your favorite music from a number of sources. After setting up the console, you just need to press the `Guide` button to load up the music and play in your favorite game. The dashboard of the Xbox that runs in the background can mute and override the music that is in the game. However, the original Xbox games that run via backwards compatibility don`t allow this feature.

Use your audio CD:

You have the option of inserting your CD into the hard drive of Xbox 360. But you must remember that you can get only 12GB of free space in the hard drive of the console. You can free up maximum 1 gigabyte of space by deleting pre-loaded media. Alternatively, you can use any form of sharing of your 360 if you have large collection of music.

While playing your MP3 off a thumbdrive or portable harddrive, ensure that the drive is formatted with FAT32 file system as the 360 is not able to read from hard drive formatted with NTFS. For the Xbox 360 owners with an old hard drive it may be a problem.

Checking for the NTFS:

Want to check if your portable drive is NTFS? The simple process is to connect to your PC and enter to the control panel and then administrative tools. After opening the computer management, select the Disk Management to find out your portable drive in the list. You will find the file system that it in use.

Switch-on and switch-off:

There is a simple feature of turning on and off your Xbox 360. Press the `Guide` button on your controller and hold it for some time to power on the console. Again, you can follow the same process when the console is on to find a little side bar with options for either shutting down the whole console or turning off the wireless controller.

Protecting the console from overheating:

The power under the hood of Xbox360 is more than any modern PC and it hence, the device needs proper airflow. Hence, you need to make sure that the console is exposed to enough ventilation while using it to keep it from overheating. Generally, the console remains warm while running the game, but you have to make sure that the console doesn`t get too hot making it difficult to touch. You can follow some of the safety measures to keep the device cool.

Compatibility:

Although the USB storage devices, standard thumbdrives and iPods work with the Xbox 360, most of the MP3 players won`t work. For more information on the devices that don`t work, you can check the list on the website of Microsoft. In such cases you may have to update the software of your MP3 player to make it compatible. In case there is a need for that, you must make backups of the data.

Changing the position:

It is more about caution that tip. You must not change the position of the Xbox360 from vertical to horizontal or vice versa when there is a disc inside the DVD drive.

There are many other necessary must-do tips for the Xbox 360 users. You can follow them better performance of the console.

Playing Guitar Hero is Fun

Posted by admin on 8th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero has quickly become one of the hottest games on the gaming market. There is good reason for this: it allows people to take part in one of their favorite fantasies. They can step right in the shoes of their favorite rock guitar legend and play in front of imaginary huge crowds. Best of all, they do not have to be a virtuoso guitar player in order to do this.

However, they do need to get the hang of the Guitar Hero game. Unfortunately, some have a tougher time of it than others. This leads them to proclaim that "Guitar Hero sucks". No, it most assuredly does not suck. You just need to take the right steps to develop a little proficiency with the game.

And, yes, these steps can take a little time. Anytime you purchase a new game you have to learn some new tricks. This can be a little tough for those who may not be used to the new game. Guitar Hero can even more difficult in this regard because of the inclusion of a simulated guitar. For those that have never picked up a guitar before this can be doubly difficult. However, do not confuse the difficulty of a new experience with notion that something is wrong with the game. If you are having a little trouble with Guitar Hero, here are a few tips that can help you improve your game play.

For some individuals the game Guitar Hero "sucks" because they are not any good at it. Often, they are not any good at it because they have ridiculously high standards for themselves. They assume all they need to do is pick up the guitar and start playing like a pro. Well, it usually doesn’t work like that as human beings are prone to making mistakes. If you make a few mistakes when you start and you sound more like a villain than a hero, don’t worry about it! Sure, you will trip over yourself when you start playing. This is not a crime! Simply be fair to yourself and allow enough time to work out your trouble spots and mistakes.

Try to play when you really feel like playing. This is known as playing when you are in the proverbial mood. You do not want to force yourself to play a game when you are not up to it because this will take a lot of joy out of the experience. Of course, this may lead to wonder how you can stay motivated. Here’s a tip: don’t pack the guitar away. Leave it in plain sight so that it never becomes falls into the "out of sight out of mind" category.

Always look at the positive benefits associated with playing Guitar Hero. Now, some will say what can be so positive about playing a video game. Well, have they ever thought about how Guitar Hero can increase a person’s appreciation for music? Or how it can increase critical analysis skills? Yes, there are many huge positives to Guitar Hero. You just need to delve a little further to find them.

As the old saying goes, people are your best resource. That means it may be helpful to jam with other Guitar Hero aficionados. You may discover new tips and tricks that you didn’t know. Guitar Hero is not a strategy game centering on a definitive win or lose scenario. Guitar Hero is much like playing an actual guitar in the sense it is an art form. As such, you will need many different perspectives in order to develop the insight needed to be a true champion of the game.

Of course, in order to do this you need to avoid the know-it-all attitude. People who possess such an attitude never learn and never grow. However, ego comes into play and they are unwilling to learn or try new things. Don’t fall into this trap. It will be your undoing. When this is the case, Guitar Hero really will suck.

Practice, practice, and more practice is always the key. You can only get better at something you do often. This is true of developing your talents with Guitar Hero and pretty much anything else.

Play by yourself a little. This means when you are alone in a room with no distractions, play the game, and listen for the little nuances. Yes, it is helpful to have the feedback of others but you also need a little introspection as well. And when you do play, play with passion. This will bring out the inner "axe slinger" in you more than anything else.

No, Guitar Hero doesn’t suck and your game playing should never be anything other than enjoyable. Simply follow these tips and you will find your game play improving dramatically. That is a guarantee!

Xbox 360 3 Red Lights Fix

Like any other gaming console, Xbox 360 also has few disadvantages and one of the major disadvantages is that you might get 3 red light errors. If you are getting 3 red light errors, your Xbox 360 has a hardware failure. The major problem associated with Xbox 360 is heating of the console and therefore first unplug the machine and allow the machine cool down for half an hour. Put your machine in an open place and if the place is congested, you can additionally make some provision of supplying air to the machine through an external device such as fan.

For fixing your Xbox 360 3 red lights, you will need to check all wiring of the console and if there is any loose wiring, tight or replace it. If you are unable to fix Xbox 360 3 red lights, you have another option to send it directly to Microsoft, however there are some risk factors as well as money associated with it. If your warranty period is over, you will need to send $140 to Microsoft for repair of your console and at the same time you will have to send the machine and thus you will have to spend some additional amount as shipping charges.

If you ship your Xbox 360 consoles to Microsoft for fixing 3 red lights, you will have to wait for at least one month. People have reported that they lost their console parts while getting back the shipped console. So, this is another risk factor associated with shipping your console to Microsoft. Gears of War Cheats for Xbox 360

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Gears of War has a massive fan following, and had even dethroned the cult ‘Halo’. Here are some cheats and tips for Gears of War for the Xbox.

Gears of War Cheats for Xbox 360

Gears of War is a over-the-shoulder shooter for the Xbox. The game was released in the United States of America on November 12, 2006. The game offers single as well as multiplayer for the Xbox.

Gears of War is set in the fictional planet of Sera. The planet Sera has seen two great wars, with the last Pendulum War fought for cheap energy. The Pendulum Wars ended with the Emergence Day, which brought upon the inhabitants of Sera the most dangerous and relentless enemies they ever faced - The Locust Horde. The Locust Horde killed about one third of the entire population of the planet Sera.

All the inhabitants of the Planet Sera are taken to a safe haven from the Locust Horde, the Jacinto Plateau. However, attacks from the Locust Horde on the Plateau, soon turned into an unpenetrable fortress, are inevitable. It is then that the acting government body, the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) turns to a different type of people for their armies - the condemned.

The main protagonist in the game is Marcus Fenix, a soldier who was imprisoned because he kept family before duty. Now, along with a rag-tag team and his friend, Dominic Santiago, they have to fight for what is left of civilization on Sera.

Here are some Gears of War cheats, tips, hints, cheat codes and glitches for the Xbox.

To get unlimited ammo, press Up, Down, Up, Left, Left, A, B, X, Y A. Make sure that you are not being shot at or taking any kind of fire. You will hear a bomb going off at a distance if the cheat has been tapped right.

To get infinite health, press Up, Down, Left, Right, X, B, Y, A, Up, Down, Left, Right. To grow yourself, you need the ‘Giant Marine’ cheat. To get the ‘Giant Marine’ cheat, press A(3), B(3), X, Y, X, A and up.

To unlock all levels, go to the main menu and press Up, Down, Left, Right, A, B, X, Y. A gun shot will confirm whether the cheat has been activated or not.

To get out of Gridlock, you will have to go to the stairs, and to the left individual sniper tower. Then face the tower and press a and b simultaneously. You will be floating on the wall.

Pressing the back button will enable you to face the wall while standing on the stairs and floating. Shoot downwards and reload. When you see the reload icon, press down and the RB button simultaneously, which will jam your gun. Do that a couple of times, and you will finally be on the rail.

To get Insane, play the game on any level, at the last check point, quit and then resume the campaign on Insane. Once you clear the last part of the level, you will get all Insane achievements.

These are the GoW cheat codes for the game. These cheat codes are also known as ‘glitches’ and spoken as ‘Gears of War Glitches’ in gaming parlance.

Guitar Hero Games Are Very Popular For Nintendo Wii

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero Games Are Very Popular For Nintendo Wii

Music has always been an important part of who we are regardless of what background you come from. There are many genres of music and they tend to cross over into just about anything we do. Most video games have music to them and we tend to either enjoy it or tune it out after a while. The concept behind the Guitar Hero games though is to become part of it.

With these particular games you get to play songs from some of your favorite bands. You get points for playing them as good as you can. Even if you have never picked up a real guitar to play before you can have a great time with it. There are colors on the neck of the guitar that you use for guidance. You can use the controller for the Wii to play it but there isn’t that same effect that you will get if you buy the guitar to play it.

The guitar for the Nintendo Wii though is an accessory you will need to buy separately. In most instances you can save money if you buy the guitar and the game together as a combination package. There are guitars you plug into the gaming console as well as wireless models. You can play alone or against someone else too. So you may want to invest in more than one guitar.

There are different versions of Guitar Hero out there to choose from. The main differences are the songs that are offered. You may like a particular type of music such as the 80’s which is offered. For many individuals in their 30’s who really enjoyed the hair band days this particular game is perfect. For a few minutes they can let go of reality and make their dreams of being a rock star come true.

People of all ages really love to play the various Guitar Hero games on their Nintendo Wii. You can choose your skill level which makes it easier to learn the basics. You can start out with the easy songs and then move forward to those that are more challenging for you. It is going to take a while to get to that stage though unless you already know how to play a guitar.

While you will really have a great deal of fun playing Guitar Hero on the Wii, you will also learn a new sense of appreciation for those who do it professionally. They may appear to have the easy life and to have everything but they have also worked very hard to learn to play the way they do.

Those who really like the Guitar Hero games for the Nintendo Wii are in for quite a treat. In October of 2008 the World Tour version will be released. It allows up to four people to play the guitar at a time. Up to eight people can play the drums if you buy that particular accessory as well. You can expect a new look with the guitar too.

It will appear to be more like what a rock star would use up there on the stage. Of course the other models of guitars that are already out there will be compatible. For the game and the new guitar you should anticipate a price of about $200.

Five Tips to Achieving Guitar Hero 3 - Guitar Mastery

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Five Tips to Achieving Guitar Hero 3 - Guitar Mastery

If you are serious about mastering Guitar Hero guitar technique then you have got your work cut out for you. Achieving expert status is not going to be attained by occasionally picking up your Guitar Hero guitar and noodling. You are going to have to work at this and not get frustrated. The average person tends to be impatient and easily gives up. Like anything in life, if you are patient, steadfast and diligent you can accomplish most things.

Tip One - Go Slow

Mastering the Guitar Hero guitar is not that much different than learning how to play a real guitar (of course, learning to play a real guitar is much more complex - but the learning strategies are similar). The most important thing that you can do is slow down. You are training your reflexes and muscles to respond in a very refined and complex manner and you need to make sure that each move that you are learning is perfect.

Most of us learn to play guitar (or Guitar Hero) by playing too fast, making lots of mistakes and hoping the these mistakes will eventually just disappear. Well, they won’t!

If you are making mistakes while you are playing then that is what you are practicing and learning. You are just getting better at playing your mistakes. For most people, the only way to eliminate the mistakes and play as perfectly as possible is to play slow.

Once your muscles begin to memorize the patterns the speed naturally develops. For the most part, you don’t need to work on speed. Work on accuracy and the speed will come effortlessly. Take advantage of the slower tempos in Practice Mode.

Tip Two - Practice Short Sections

One of the worst things you can do is just play the song over and over. Most players will find that there is about seventy-five percent of the song that is not too hard and about twenty-five percent that trips them up.

So, work on the hard parts. Isolate the sections that are giving you problems and work them slowly. If you only have twenty minutes to play then why spend fifteen minutes playing the parts that are easy. That won’t help you improve.

Unfortunately, most of us like to do things that are fun. Working on the hard parts is usually frustrating and feels a bit like work. We’d rather just play the parts that we can do well.

I recommend that you take the middle way. Spend a bit of your time doing some serious work on the difficult sections then forget it and just have fun.

Tip Three - Practice Each Hand Separately

You might find it beneficial to try practicing each hand separately. In other words, work on the strumming hand and then work on the fret keys.

Tip Four - Practice Your Hammer-ons and Pull-offs

You may have noticed that the border around the notes changes color during fast tempos. This means that you can stop strumming and just play the fret keys (this would be the equivalent of hammer-ons and pull-offs on a real guitar). What you would do is hit the strum button on the first note and then play the rest of the notes only with the fret keys. Make sure your rhythm is accurate.

Tip 5 - Master the Whammy Bar

Every time you hit a long note you can begin to learn how to work the whammy bar. This will help bolster your Star Power. The faster that you move your whammy bar up and down the more points you will earn.

So get to work and I’ll look out for your Guitar Hero video posted on your favorite video site.

Guitar Hero History

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

The Year was 2005, and the world was about to be taken by storm by a video game unlike any other. We are talking of course about the one the only Guitar Hero for PS2. This incredible game was the first to take full advantage of a modular controller developed to mimic a Musical instrument and people loved it. Since 2005, the company that was once Harmonix was bought out by MTV Networks and would ultimately be responsible for the release of the Rock Band platform after relinquishing the Guitar Hero label to Activision.

Between the two platforms the viability of premium music downloads for video game platforms has become a reality. Since the launch of online support services across the leading platforms over 20 million tracks have been downloaded. Pair that with the increase in sales artists themselves have seen as a result of having their tracks in the game and the impact to the business of music has been unparalleled by any other musical innovation to date (even the distortion pedal!) It should also be noted that artists make more per track selling their downloads through than Guitar Hero than through iTunes.

As a whole, the series has released a total of 13 games and as of October 9, 2008, the series has sold 23 million units and earned US$1.6 billion at retail. The release of Guitar Hero 3 in North American raked in over $115 million in sales for Activision making it the biggest sales week in the history of the company and paralleling the big screen openings of movie like Iron Man, Spider Man 2 and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Unfortunately, as one would imagine those that aren’t cashing in on the deal are quick to hire lawyers and point fingers. None have been so active in their litigation as legendary guitar maker Gibson. They have filed multiple suits in 2008 against not only Activision for using Gibson guitar likenesses but also the world’s largest retailers (Wal-Mart, Amazon.com and a few others) for selling and distributing the games. They have also taken the extra step of going after MTV Networks stating the Rock Band is infringing upon them. In the past year, they have seen little success with any of their suits and they will likely be long and drawn out.

As gamers, we have been very fortunate that these types of suits have not been more prevalent between recording artists, music labels, managers and others in the music industry. Instead, we get to rock out to our favorite Guitar Hero games and with any luck we will have many more years of gaming to come.

Can Wii Guitar Hero Be Family Fun?

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero Wii Can Be Family Fun!

As a parent to young son I am becoming more and more concerned about what he is exposed to as he grows. We don’t watch a lot of TV and try to spend as much time as we can playing and doing creative things like drawing and making things with paper with him. The irony is I am concerned about things I know myself I enjoy or once enjoyed in my life - manly music, movies and computer games. I still love music and movies. I am not huge fan of computer games now.

We encourage our son to sing songs, listen to music and take an interest in music instruments. As for movies, we occasionally take him to see popular children’s movies. My son is half Japanese and speaks Japanese so we allow him to watch Japanese anime and TV shows on Youtube. When comes to computer games I have never liked the idea of him playing them at all….until Wii Guitar came along.

I was once a big role playing and 3D shooter game fan in my teens and early twenties. I rarely play these games now and am quite surprised at the level and amount of graphic violence these games now have. Of course my son has never been exposed to these sorts of games. I have never been a big fan of hand held games. However, while we were living in Japan he did learn discover and experience Nintendo DS.

I made the mistake of buying my wife a DS last year. Eventually it would find it’s way into my sons hands. We first tried to reward him with a little DS game play here and there. In the end he become DS addicted wanting to play the game all the time. We got rid of it. The idea of having any sort of game in the house didn’t appeal to me at all over that experience.

When game makers started coming out with games that allowed user to simulate playing guitar I first I dismissed them as toys for teenagers who were either having trouble growing up or too lazy to learn guitar. One day at a friends house we played Wii Guitar Hero for a few hours. We were hooked. We got the Wii console for Xmas and have been playing Wii guitar heroes ever since on weekends and during school holidays.

Wii guitar is great fun for the family. Although it is a computer game, and not the real thing, it is very interactive and great for growing bodies. You can swing the game’s controller in time with music to mimic the motions they’d make to strum a guitar. My son is picking up some of the basics, such as rhythm, tempo and song structure. He also seems to be more interested in music. I bought him his first real guitar recently.

The best thing about Wii guitar is it can be enjoyed by the whole family and creates a lot of social interaction. In fact, the whole family can turn into a rock band and tour the world. In fact, it is the best fun we have as a family and we all look forward to the weekends.

Guitar Hero Wii Versus Rockband - Which is the Champ?

Posted by admin on 5th June 2009 in Becoming A Master of Guitar Hero

Guitar Hero Wii Versus Rockband - Which is the Champ?Guitar Hero Wii has given countless non-rockers the chance to feel like a rock star over and over again. This game and other music-game playing gadgetry have become so overwhelmingly popular of late. If you have not played before, you may be wondering why they are so popular. If you are one of the lucky ones who have played before, then you already understand why.

Guitar Hero Wii and its long time competitor, Rockband Wii, allow us to pick a guitar and pretend that we are rocking out like Slash fro Guns N Roses. We get to play hard, rock out with friends, and enjoy the adulation of a simulated audience, all without the years of study, practice and devotion of real rock stars.

The games have increased further in popularity as each of the guitar game franchises try to best each other and become the coolest game. With numerous added features, we can now not only play the guitar, but also play the drums, sing on the microphone, create our own rock star characters, modify the instruments, download additional music and even record our own music.

There hasn’t been a consensus in the reviews over what franchise is the greatest, however apparently /"Guitar Hero Wii"/ edges out the rest. Lots of gamers appear to like the larger song list included with Guitar Hero, which has a playlist in excess of 80 songs ranging from performers like Billy Idol and Van Halen to Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Coldplay.

G Guitar Hero Wii Versus Rockband - Which is the Champ?uitar Hero has guitars and drums that are more realistic. While they may not look the best, they are heavier and therefore feel more like a real guitar than what is offered by Rockband. Reportedly the accessories the come with are much sturdier and do not break as easily.

Hugely popular are the video games in the Guitar Hero series (e.g., Guitar Hero Xbox 360 and Wii). The product reviews for these games tends to be higher. Small wonder: Guitar Hero makes an everyday guy or everyday gal feel like a big-time rock star. It is simply a blast to gather around in front of the console and rock out with your friends!
